Screenshots Gallery Updates
As I mentioned in the latest monthly update, we are in the process of updating our Screenshots Gallery with some of the more recent images that we have released of the game. I think you'll agree that the game has come a long way visually in the last several months as the Ensemble Studios artists crank away on the enormous lists of assets that they have to create for the game, and get to take a second or third pass on some of the older unit art.
We've added a few images to the gallery today in glorious 1280x720 resolution, and we'll be adding more in the near future.
Blogging Bruce
Ensemble Studios designer Bruce Shelley has updated his developers blog once again with a mix of Age of Empires III and Halo Wars commentary. Check out his latest:
"This is not a strategy game where you don’t interact with your opponent for the first 15 to 25 minutes. Many games are over by that point. Second, you have strategic choices. You can invest deep in technology or get into the fight fast. There are unit combinations to try. You can’t build and invest in everything, but you have to be flexible..."
UNSC Arsenal
We're adding to our information on the units and buildings in Halo Wars, starting with a look at the Firebase and a brief rundown on the Warthog and its available upgrades. We will continue to add renders, concepts, screenshots, and basic information on the role that each unit and building will have in the game in the months ahead so keep in touch as we add information. For now, check the UNSC page for information on these two vital parts of the game:
"The UNSC firebase combines the needs of a tactical communication command center and expansion into both a barrack and a production facility capable of assembling combat vehicles. The firebase itself is a variant of the old colony starter units constructed out of polycrete and powered by a small hydrogen reactor. Because gaining a foothold quickly was key to fighting insurrection throughout the colonies, Spirit of Fire can directly deploy the entire assembly unit of a firebase"
Halo Wars Monthly Update 06.20.08
It's been the busiest month for Halo Wars news in quite some time. The GamePro article came out with a great deal of information and they've posted a ton of it on their website. It's not over though folks, E3 is less than a month away, coming up in mid-July. Halo Wars will be there, a year further along this time. The latest monthly update covers this upcoming event, and more:
"We will certainly update our website, as we did last year, with some E3 materials, links to announcements, articles, and any other information that comes from the show.
What are we going to be showing? We’re going to be showing a recent build of the game. We have a milestone that is shortly before E3, so we’re going to take a few days to test it and make sure it’s running well, then take it to LA. A lot more of the game will be visible and hopefully we will be able to hand over the controller to let people try it for themselves."

GamePro Halo Wars Extravaganza
The folks at GamePro are sharing a great deal of information and images from their Halo Wars article on their website. If the magazine isn't available in your area, you'll definitely want to check that out, and they have just posted a full batch of screenshots that appear in their magazine as well.
Many thanks to GamePro for sharing, it's not many gaming magazines that post so much content online. Also thanks to the guys at HW Addict for keeping on top of all of this.
