from being one of those annoying kids who signed up as soon as he got the game to becomming a beast in 1 v 1, not doing 1 v 1 for 3 months then sucking at it from that day forth.

oh yeah and beating I FJ I in a anders mirror 2 out of 3 made my day.

    Re: Since Halowars.com is departing...

The E3 2007, which had the only worthy build of the game, was still fresh. Members were devoted Halo fans, and had come here because they wanted to see a fleshed, well designed Halo RTS. And when I learned that Enseble Studios, the makers of AoE, the game I've adored ever since I was young was making it, I drooled. And after seeing some of the threads here, I decided to join. And I entered in an era of enlightenment on this thread.

The "How To Implement the Flood" thread and all of its spin-offs. The multi-quote posts that Rot put up that spanned an entire page, and covered every point made by other members since the last multi-quote.

But slowly, as more screenshots were unveiled. An infection form was spotted in one of the concept arts, and finally the E3 '08 demo that left me in anger and disgust. Seeing uninspired characters, firebases, and marines that looked more like Spartan III's, a wave of new fine gentlemen swarmed the forum, and slowly, quality threads were trolled, and it was clear that this forum's days were numbered.

And the game released, the entire Game Suggestions got deleted, and a swarm of 12 year olds followed by the frequent banning of the old members due to the flame wars that ensued. I just gave up and left.

For those who joined after the E3 '08, who had entered into gradual death of this forum.

    I am now semi-retired member.

    To those who just joined.

Respect is not gained by how many posts you have. Rather the effectiveness of your posts.

I will miss talking to a few people here.

I wish they would let it stay!

Trust me, if you thought it was bad when waypoint took over you were wrong.

It went bad as soon as the game was released. We had people constanting claiming they had the "perfect strat" and the game never turned out as it planned to, from 08 to 09 Ensemble suddenly changed the whole game engine....

Everything went Fucked up since 09 so there are no "good time".

I feel utterly offended. But casting that aside, the 07-08 times were the best. I remember that this site is what had me pick up writing stories. I remember my first ff, posted to this very site in all of it's utter retardedness ( XD ). The LFF's were extremely fun in the beginning, but after those went to hell, the site just.....was never the same tbh.
In my times, the darkened days,
    Evil invaded the world.
    We farmers,
We workers of the Red Union,
We united and slaughtered them all.
    The brave soul,
    Above the evil,
Planted our inspiration atop their burning cities.

    Eternal Vigil:

I remember when this site used to be a basic forum with some very early concept art of a scarab and hunter at the top.

I remember the old 2006 members.

I remember Member of the month threads (And my less successful Fan-fic writer of the month)

    I remember the Cougar.

I remember writing my Fan-fics, and the support for them driving me on and making a series I am still proud I did.

I remember the 2009 fights and how things went.

I remember the day I got banned.

I remember watching the site change to a new generation and me going into semi-retirement.

And at the end of the site, when they finally turn the servers off: We will remember Halowars.com.

    What was the Cougar?

You should post your fanfics on a different site, that way they won't be lost... I enjoyed them [went back and read most of them].

I'll try to remember the site as it was before then.

The cougar is a cut vehicle. It was like an APC. It ressembles the gremlin. When the first pictures of the gremlin apeared, people tought it was a cougar.
