Question regarding the timeline and the cinematic

The BR55 Battle Rifle everyone seems to use in the trailer wasn't around when the humans first encountered the covenant.

I also noticed this inconsistency. It was probably only a cinematic goof up and will be modified for the game.

Yea was just gonna post about that. They where added to the human arsenal abit before halo 2. They mainly used the gun from halo 1 (whatever it was called) =P.

 

But i bet they can bypass that lore wise. Maybe this is an elite formation thats got the upgrade before the spartans did or maybe they turned it down in favor of there old trusted rifle.

Or maybe the games go from start of war till Fall Of Reach, where Battle Rifles were being made?

I thought the Pilliar of Autumn was anb old ship and just not equiped with the best weapons...

While ships on Earth have the latest stuff... 

Or maybe they just forgot to pack some on the Pillar of Autumn before they ran far, far away.

why is there Battle Rifles?

yeah, but im guessing they will change that for the game

The universe is very large... Earth probably has the best weapons...

 

By halo we are losing the war; thus forces are overstreached....  weapons are the same... older weapons are used. 

There were many encounters with the covenant before reach, so saying the PoA didn't have the more advanced weapons is a moot point in my opinion.

I'm sure there will be a lot of conflict with the story timeline, but im also sure those will all be worked out before the game is released.

possible that it was or a prototype or that it was just put in there for the benefit of the trailer. dunno and im not gonna start worrying aout it at this stage.

The ship design was old but one of few ships the humans have that can take a *** load of dmg and still hold. There wernt many made of it an so they arnt all over the place. The mac gun on the Poa was also a upgrade version that fired 3 mac rounds and not one.
