So I've realised with lots of contemplation:
Should the grunts and jackals have an overcharge feature for the plasma pistols, if so, should they.

It may be the whole squad which has plasma pistols that overcharge and shoot... so about five (five grunts/jackals) big superheated blobs of plasma coming at you is going to be quite damaging and utmost kill one enemy instantly, and damage the others health dramatically.
New ideas >
Only one out of the squad overcharges their plasma pistol < Up for debate.
Cool down period of one minute and thirty seconds < Up for debate.
The overcharge can disable vehicles for a period of forty seconds or more < Up for debate.
Instead of only draining the health dramatically from your enemy who is unlucky enough to get hit by an overcharge, they could get knocked unconscious for five seconds. So they should drop limp to the ground and stay there for about five or more seconds then rise back up wobbly. Different infantry units would be effected for different spans of time, such as, it wouldn't knock out a hunter, and a jackal with the shield up would only get his shield knocked out, not himself. The elites would stay unconscious for less time then that of a grunt or jackal.
