We've officially discovered a planet with the best chances of supporting life on another planet, in another solar system. Let's break out the champagne everyone. But while we're at it, what should we rename the planet to? Gliese 581G just sounds really...dull.

Most, if not all, scientific discoveries are either ignored by the media or called a waste of money by the media or turned into a scare mongering story about how something might go wrong unless there is immediate gain from them. Sad but true.
